Abilities Centre Public Doors Open

(Whitby, Ontario) May 24, 2012 – Whitby's Abilities Centre invites the public and media to our Public Doors Open sponsored by Bonfield. This celebration Saturday, June 2nd, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm will include games and refreshments and give a first-hand experience of the programs and services that the Centre will offer. Attendees will be able to tour the Centre, experience a program and purchase a membership. The Centre officially opens to members on Monday, June 4th, 2012.

Whitby International North Marathon is qualifier for Boston Marathon
WHITBY -- The term marathon comes all the way from the 5th century AD during the battle of Marathon in Greece. The legend goes a messenger from Marathon ran to Athens and then Sparta to get assistance in fighting the invading Persians, and then ran back, a distance of 240 kilometres, both ways.
