One-on-one employment support for individuals facing barriers to employment in Durham Region.

Our Employment Counsellors work alongside individuals to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to prepare for, find, and maintain meaningful employment. Whether you are exploring your options, actively searching for work, or looking to strengthen your skills in a current role, your Employment Counsellor will support you at every stage.

Employment Coaching at Abilities Centre is entirely individualized. Your Counsellor will work with you to assess your skills, goals, values, and strengths, then develop a plan that reflects your aspirations. When you are ready to search for work, your Counsellor will support you to find and apply to opportunities in the community that are the right fit for you. Job searching and applications can be completed from home or in person at Abilities Centre, whichever works best for you. Supports, referrals, and next steps are always tailored to you.
